A while ago I modified the mailing list settings to "moderated" after a spam message got through.

I've since changed the options so that only certain subscribers' messages will be individually approved (not that there's all that much activity here). Chances are that if you've posted here before or if we've communicated via private email, you are not on the moderated list.

By default, all new members are now set to moderated status and will remain so until I see reason to change this.

This seems to be the best solution to eliminate spamming while not discouraging more "senior" listmembers from posting.
