NASA claims at their site, as a benefit, "Ease of use and flexibility: The program is smaller, easier to use, and more flexible than commercially available packages."

I know of at least one listmember who is looking into this technology transfer program; I think the idea is to take the basic software and build a commercial package around it. This seems to be an already competitive market.

| piping. It can only calculate (1) the HOOP stress level in a

| pipe at a given pressure, (2) the minimum pipe-wall thickness ,

| code (ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, or JIC). Temperature is ambient
only.
