Does everyone know what a "list mom" is? I'm it.

First of all, email communications are quite different from "in your face" communications. Something written seemingly innocuously as a joke can be interpreted in many ways (especially since many members of this list are not native English-speakers).

I've seen things go ballistic on other, otherwise well-behaved mailing lists and I don't want to see it happen here. A friend of mine, Joe Littrell, once said: "Think twice, post once." Good advice, we're professionals here.

There are no stupid questions, and the spark inquiry was not a troll as far as I can tell. Remember that there are some 225 people on this list, many of them wanting to learn from more experienced people.

By the way, if you have great co-operation in the initial stages between mech and chem (PFD and P&ID development), notes to the piping designer is a good idea. I just wouldn't put descriptional graphics about the physical plant on the drawing itself, just point to the note. After all, at this time, it hasn't even been laid-out yet. The best of all worlds is to also have an experienced designer also contributing - assuming there is a plot plan to work from - to give everyone a quick graphical representation of the ideas flinging about and to guide as to commonly-known best practices.

Sorry, started rambling and I think I ran out of my weekly allocation of hyphens. Play nice!
