NACE has recognized this failure and has done a study to to find ways to
recognized, control and fix these phenomena. The normal inspection procedure
is to remove the insualtion and cladding. However, this method is not only
labor intensive or cost effective but not feasible for cryogenic service.
Anybody knows of other inspection technique that do not require removal of
insulation and cladding. Problem is magnified if tanks is is also suspected
of having a CUI.
