Re: MIC on Potable Water Piping.

ABS piping, for potable water usage, has fallen out of favor here in the States. There is a multi-million dollar class action lawsuit filed against (5) manufactures in the state of California. The lawsuit is for property damage due to mutiple leaks from defective piping/fittings. I can assure you that the local plumbing codes will shortly remove ABS as an approved material for potable water. Plus over the years acrylonitrile was viewed as being a suspected carcinogen. And this has made some folks wary of using piping with it as part of the material. Worry of leaching out. It hasn't been proven, but still the same most folks stay away from it. Just a little insight from the USA. Everett Nichols
