to produce medium pressure and low pressure steam supply, we've got a couple
of desuperheater on our steam distribution piping system. few years back, we
experience a failure on our medium pressure and low pressure desuperhetaetr
(crack on the CI body). we mdoify it using a liner to absorb the thermal
shock with the help of the vendor.
it stops. then a few months back it happended again. we're using copes vulcan. any suggestion? we're ordering another repalcement and vendor is suggesting another make that require me to modify the piping (the inlet and oulet flanges are bigger).
reparing a cast iron body is like chasing cracks. you start at one end and the other end keeps running. drilling holes at both end doesn't help either. peening with preheat did some good though. Received on Thu May 31 03:26:00 2001
