thank you barbara. you did a very detailed study (ok impressive). i'll have alook and see re BS806. im a a bit at loss with "At the same time as starting this project we carried out a metallurgical survey of several points on the line including this elbow, the replication showed no sign of any creep damage." (ok inclduing the Norton law).

im only aware of the astm e-150-64 for the creep and rupture tension test and this can only be done during the fab when ive ordered a repalcement spare for our 4" od heater tubes (hp-40 mod). i'll appreciate it if you can eleaborate further on the type of the "metallurgical survey" perform on the piping. you've pick very interesting (ok fun) subject to study.

where can i get hold of the Suzuki paper?
