You would also want a full-bore valve to minimize potential
entrapment of contaminants (say, HC in O2 flow) and for flows that
contain solids (for example, pulp or other semi-solids). Both
full-bore flow options would reduce downtime between
cleaning/purge-derime.
But then, I'm not a valve expert.
