You may want to try this.
The determination of the thrust load for the tail pipe of the relief valve
can be calculated using the procedure of API-RP 520 (section 2.4.1 for open
discharge system) or the Crosby Manual. May I caution you to account for the
instantaneous force at the time the psv pops by considering the dynamic load
factor. the API makes no mention of the dynamic load factor. You may look it
up in B31.1

I would like to know the code reference and the procedure to calculate the Safety relief valve exhaust piping design for Natural gas service. Non-mandatory rules of Appendix-II of ASME B31.1 gives the method to calculate for steam services and not for gas services.
