I have this odd feeling that I'm missing something. Why install dowels
instead of lining up using the bolt holes that are already there? Seems
like you could put a couple of bolts in the two top holes of the fixed
flange and line up on them. If the 1/16 clearance is too sloppy find
something like pipe or round bar and turn it to a slip fit and use that
instead of the dowels. The object of the whole exercise is to get the
bolt holes to match, anyway. Is there something else that the dowels are
needed for?
