Insulpipe have a foamed polyurethane with a uPVC outer sheath. This is New Zealand company but I am sure the technology exists in other parts of the world. Try Eurapipe (part of the Tyco group) in Australia. They are manufacturing an ABS with a foamed core and outer PE sheath just for such applications. They have projects in the Middle East and Pakistan where chilled water is reticulated to users. email contact David Stevens stevensda@eurapipe.com.au

Subject: [PipingDesign] Lagging for Chilled Water Piping

  Hi Forum Members

Recently there was a flurry of notes on pipe and vessel cladding.

Can anyone out there advise on the use of cladding for chilled water piping, 7 -

  12 deg C?

I believe there are specific types for cold duty? Pitfalls, both from corrosion through condensation in the pipe - lagging interface, point of view and heat gain.

In short, any info would be welcome.
