RE: Sizing of expansion loops,

you should try Caesar II, Triflex or some of the software intended for that purpose.
Anyway if what you need is a rough calculation you might use the elastic center method, and old procedure developed by M.W.Kellog. If so, find enclosed an Excel template authored by Stephen Hall.
