he can not be in charge of the group since Jarot has admitted he's only a beginner. May i suggest that you try to get to to the construction site and observe how pipe are fabricated, installed, then later see if u can get yourself involve during the inspection, testing and commissioning. You try also to befriend one of the designer and observe the rules your company is using to lyaout the piping.

Every now and then when your back in y our office, try to model the pipe and run the stress calc. It would help if u try at least 3 to 4 different load cases and animate the movement and dont forget the equipment report if the pipe is to be attached to a pump, compressor, turbine or some nozzles. One of the great source of info is to join the guys involve in piping designing and erection during coffee breaks. It would also help if u visit pipingdesign.com and get hold of some of the books suggested by Paul. There are a lot of goodies there aside from piping and some pracrtical advise and funny storries (dont forget to visit the cartoon).

So,from your information I suppose that you would be in charge with stress calculations for industrial piping. I also have to assume that you are not a lot of experienced, but there is no precise information about your level of knowledge in this matter. Please, be a little bit more specific and give more data about yourself as to let people to give you the right advice.
