introduction

Hiya List-mates..

Just thought I would introduce myself, instead of lurking and you all possibly wondering who was subscribed..

I'm Tim, I live in Edmonton Alberta, and I am currently working at Suncor Tar Islands tar sands upgrade.. the project is starting to be commissioned and is winding down..I'm doing hydrotest packages..

I loved the website where I found the listserv @egroups, and will be regularly visiting the site often.

I am pretty new to piping design, only a few months on this contract, but I have been in industrial construction most of my life, usually on the tools working as an electrician.

A little bit of a leap for me ( I know.. I know, yada yada LOL)I took some software programming last year, Oracle/VB and C++ as well as I have been doing web pages and a bunch of other internet stuff..

I get bored kinda easily and the terrific opportunity came up for me to do this job, and I have embraced it 100%, and I have a hell of a learning curve going.. but it is keeping me interested in the job, which keeps me working.. if it is not interesting.. I dont think I want to stick around..

So anyways, I have lots to learn.. hoping I can sit at your feet here for a year or so and learn and ask lots of questions, if I find the time when I am not at work.. currently doing 11/3 10 hour days.. so hardly enough time for self care and a couple family emails..In the mean time I will just lurk a bit and read, but I wanted you to know I was here and listening...
