this sucker is big. for a positive displacement machine like a reciprocating compressor, .....COULD NOT FOLLOW WHY YOU SAID IT IS BIG FOR RECIPROCATING MACHINE. AS YOU MIGHT BE KNOWING OPTION OF RECIPROCATING Vs CENTRIFUGAL WILL LIE WITH ACTUAL VOLUME FLOW RATE AND PRESSURE RATIO. IT IS NOT UNUSUAL TO HAVE RECIPROCATING COMPRESSORS IN THE ORDER OF 8 TO 10 MW SIZE    my worry will be pulasation and vibration more than the nozzle load. the piping designer must be at least conversant or familiar with the mode shape and understand the physics of resonat frequency.... THIS IS NOT AT ALL A PROBLEM, SINCE IT WILL BE TAKEN CARE IN API 618, APPROACH-3 STUDIES. MY QUERY WAS SPECIFICALLY WITH REFERENCE TO NEW ELEMENT IN THE SYSTEM SPRING SUPPORT/VIBRATION ISOLATOR ON THE FOUNDATION. And in most cases, prediction by computer modeling is unrelaible (at least my expereinced). ... RALPH, COULD YOU ELABORATE. I COULD NOT FOLLOW. IF THAT IS THE CASE, SOME THING MIGHT BE WRONG WITH EITHER THE PROGRAM OR INPUTS. HARI Received on Sun Oct 07 02:47:00 2001
