oh im sorry. i misread your thread. i thought yourr referrign to the use of
spring cans to support the piping.
Our reciprocating compressor and other rotating machinery are mounted on a solid base. we limit the use of vibration isolator to support the equipment for package type unit. i'd like to pursue the issue further but since this is a piping design forum i rather limit my particpation to this subject.
my i suggest that u try eng-tips.com (mechanical engineering) where problem similar to the ones youve described are posted.
