No. What might be helpful is that people read and re-read 'How to ask questions the smart way'

I gather there are a lot of people for whom English is a second language and I think we should all try to cut them some slack. At the same time there are limits to the help anyone can offer to a post like the 'compressor, .....COULD NOT FOLLOW WHY YOU SAID IT IS BIG FOR RECIPROCATING...' It really was gibberish--probably like what might happen if I were to post something in Cantonese or Arabic. No matter how much people want to help there's not much to be done with a mish-mash like that one. You'll have a lot better luck if you remember the following.

  1. Quote a sentence or two (at most) of the item you're discussing, so people understand what you want help with.
  2. If you don't speak English very well, use short sentences. If no one understands you you're wasting your time, our time and bandwidth by posting.
  3. If you're talking with someone who speaks the same language as you, you should think about going off list and chatting. No point in confusing everyone.
  4. The list isn't a chat line. If you feel like talking over old times with a buddy, please do so, but do it off list.
  5. For God's sake quit posting in capitals! Nothing marks a rank newbie like a post in capitals. Capitals are bad manners because they mean you're yelling. I ignore people who yell and so do many others. If that isn't the first thing you learn about mailing lists, it should be.
