Tank coils

Can anyone tell me a quick and dirty formula for sizing what the appropriate surface area of tank coils should be. probably based on outside air temp, surface area of the tank, and steam temp.
I am looking at replacing some coils in a couple of tanks that have been converted and want to make sure the coils are correctly sized. Thanks
