ive been used to the term "tie bar (or double tie bar)" rather than the "bridge". If the weight is over 50 lb , we normally replace the "paddle" with the "handle". The tag is tack welded to the handle. Its true that the min. thcikness is 6 mm (even if the calc showed u can use 3 mm - don't) but it can also be more than 15 mm. A 24"-600# blanks is about 75 mm thick.
Do we need to machined the surface of a fig 8 or blanks so that it matches the surface finish of the flange - 125 RMS? Is the use of A-36 material allowed under Code rules? Received on Sat Oct 13 13:09:00 2001
