RE: Sea water application material

duplex and monel are expensive choice of material for sea water main header piping - NPS 24 up to 66 (welding is not easy especially for duplex). Cu-Ni alloy (such as monel) is ok as branch connection or nozzles or as a material for sea water filter housing. Least expensive choice will be cement lined CS piping to AWWA C205. We have also tried a fiberglass based paint like Jotun Baltoflake to lined a CS pipe with relatively good success (above grade under NPS 24 - 10 years running now without leak or damage to lining).
