corrosion coupon helps you figure out the corrosion rate. Given this number, one may be able to determine the remaining life of the pipe header (provided that the retirement thickness has already been established) and therefore plan for its replacement and thereby averting unschedule shutdown.

normally the threaded fittings is 1 NPS.

Dear Friends

Do you any one know what is the purpose of putting corrosion coupon and corrosion probe?
What are all its standard fittings that i can take to put on my 6",8",12" and 14" pipe headers and my pipe is of sch.120, class 900# and the material is API 5L Gr. B and my service is Crude Oil.
In my P&ID it says cc and cp are of 1" size.

Please let me know from you as early as possible
