I am looking for a knife gate valve for a mining
slurry application. I would like it within 4
weeks.
The delivery point is in New Zealand, but air freight
is not a problem.
The size is 350NB, or 300NB would do if absolutely
necessary.
Pressure rating is 21bar. Operating pressure is
normally around 17bar and the valve must be capable of
opening against 21 bar differential pressure.
Anticipated max flow is 420l/s. Natural rubber and
stainless steel have proved suitable wetted materials
for the slurry which is sulphide ore gold mine
tailings D50 = 60 micron. An air actuator 5-10bar
min/max pressure is suitable and it would be and
advantage for this to be supplied with the valve. I
prefer to use the actuator oil filled with separate
air over oil accumulators to give smoother adjustable
actuating speed. So actuator internals should be
hydraulic oil compatible.
The valve will be used for dumping the tails line if
there is a failure or planned shutdown so the duty is
occasional but severe.
Clarkson valves are believed to be of suitable quality
and probably L&M valves also. Keystone fig955
valves only go to 16bar.
Local valve suppliers tell me that this valve would have to be manufactured which would take at least 6 weeks (ex USA). I would have thought there must be a reasonably priced "off the shelf" supplier somewhere.
Can anyone help source a good supplier?
Cheers
Steve McKenzie
