Basically the speed of rotation.
Depending on the application, some large industrial Gas turbines only rotate
at 4000 RPM. This is due to the size of the blades and that they be
opearting very close to the speed of sound as they rotate if they went any
faster.
Aero derivative operate at the same speed of rotation as they would in an aircraft.
Also Aero derivates get to there opearting speed a lot faster and therefore used as a peaking unit, whereas most industrials are used as a base load machine.
