My query is related to the trunnion temperature. Its a very general question whether to take trunnion temperature in a system while doing stress analysis.

  1. My very specific question is whether to consider the trunnion temp. in pump system analysis? If yes why and if not then also why? As physically there is avg. temp in trunnion is found to be about 50 deg- 60 deg( and more) in hot pumps ( temp about 350-400 degC), this temp. may be certainly causing some expansion.
  2. I wish to know the general comment from all of you what your organisation follow the path, whether you take the temp in trunnion or not??

regards
