"Cammprofile" is a term that is used generically in this country (USA) for a composite gasket which uses a serrated metal core with a soft facing material. Our company manufactures under the trade name "MaxiProfile". The "m" factor is 2 and the "y" factor is 2500(psi). Temperature range depends on facing materials. For graphite it is a max. limit of 1022 deg. F. Check chemical raistance of graphite for media service. They are employed quite extensively in refineries in the USA, especially as "problem solver" gaskets and especially in heat exchangers as a replacement for a double jacketed metal gasket. They seat at a relatively low stress load and have a very high end on maximum allowable stress load, therefore are very "forgiving". Due to the design, they also have a very high load retention cabability.

Hi all,

Request your opinion about the use of Cammprofile Gasket, and its range of application in refineries. Can anybody provide me with the 'm' factor and 'y' value of these gaskets.

Thanks
