RE: Cone Valve Dam Outlet

Geoff

have you had any luck with Pratt et al? On thursday I have agreed , in a moment of weakness, to design and spec the hydraulics (oil) for a sluice gate at a hydro station (one of my little specialities) probably in your country. I will check out the current state of play with letdown valves. Am quite keen to design one, with your help, if vendor prices are silly, as they often are.Keep in touch.

Cheers

Steve

I promised you picture of a double bellows unit in a thermoplastic application.
I would have preferred a longer leg length but it does take up the thermal expansion in a long run of ABS.

for a start, try Henry Pratt www.henrypratt.com
they make the type of thing you are looking for.
Maybe McNally Pittsburgh
I would also try ITT because I heard a rumour they bought Allsi Chalmers
cone valve designs.
> Does anyone in this forum know of a manufacturer of cone valves used
as
> pressure let down valves below a dam. The duty is 400-1010 L/s with
upstream
> head of 60m . The head loss is modelled to be 25-40 m respectively.
Valve
> required is to be electrically operated for flow control purposes.
