True. It is movement of the platform during load out operation. When the platform is being transferred to location on a barge, due to the rolling and pitching movement of the barge there will be some induced acceleration generated which causes loading on the piping which is transmitted to the structure. The piping and structure has to be designed for this movement and load. The value will be in terms of 'G' in X, Y and Z direction. In CAESAR this term is fed in "uniform load" item under "Vectors 1, 2, and 3" as applicable. In the same item you have to click on the 'G' tick box in the "Special Execution parameters" of "KAUX column". The value of 'G' is supplied by the structural department based on their analysis.
The same is applicable for an FPSO (Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading facility). In case of an FPSO this is a continuous feature. You will have this all the time.
I hope this will answer the question. Please correct me if I am wrong. More suggestions are welcome.

Subject: [PipingDesign] Tow acceleration of piping
Hi,
We are involved in the engineering of offshore piping.
Presently working for a wellhead platform. I have a
doubt on tow acceleration of piping. I understand
this has got to do with the movement of piping while
carrying deck for loadout operation. I would like to
know how to anlyse the piping system on Caesar-II
software for loadout case. Do we need to calculate
acceleration factor and feed it as uniform load. Can
anyone explain in detail
Regards
