The severity chart published by SwRI is one source that u may want to try to
determine if the stress level of your piping is within the acceptable band or
not. You will need the reading of the displacement and frequecy of your piping
system to use the chart.
Kellog Piping Handbook has also a chapter that addresses the issue of piping
vibration. U may also want to visit Pauls website for some link to the article
related to piping vibration. The analysis just using the piping layout is still
consider a black art. The fun begins with the pipe spool is laready in placed
and on-stream.
