Snubbers

I have come across a disturbing report on the reliability of mechanical snubbers. These devices have been found to not perform as per design becauce of a number of issues related to maintenance, fabrication and installation. If you have these devices in plant it is suggested that you read the US NRC Bulletin 81-01 Surveillance of Mechanical Snubbers.
