I am seeking the procedure required to determine the maximum design pressure of threaded connections as used for instrumentation and vents/drains?
How is this procedure affected by cyclic service?
The piping industry appears to limit pressures to lower values compared to the hydraulics industry.
Is this just historical or is there some science here?
