I am seeking the procedure required to determine the maximum design pressure of
threaded connections as used for instrumentation and vents/drains?
How is this procedure affected by cyclic service?
The piping industry appears to limit pressures to lower values compared to the hydraulics industry.
Is this just historical or is there some science here?

Any questions out there?
Paul:
Questions can be classified as "always right". However; the response
or
responses may or may not be right. All one can do is to respond to the best
of one's knowledege, which is always very LIMITED.

I would be glad to respond to any and all questions keeping in mind the limitations of time I have.
I suggest that you gather the questions and pass on to me. I would set a time frame to respond based on the extent of effort it may involve.
Thanks.
