Hi Paul
some months back I had a water hammer analysis carried out on a small job. I
sent a sketch of the line and received back a half page report and a fax of
the graphs showing predcted surge pressure vs time for several scenarios.
The analysis was done using Surge software.
Previously, this software had been used to analyse a high pressure penstock.
The results were compared with actual pressure/time readings and correlation
was excellent if the computer/software generated short duration spikes were
ignored.
If Peter would like, I can send him this information so he can run a trial,
and then compare his results with the graphs. The fax copy is very poor, but
hopefully will scan OK .
Cheers
Steve McKenzie
