I'm looking for resources to estimate the mechanical design on a small modular E&C Oil and Gas CAD project to be done on PDMS. It's for a small engineering company used to bidding jobs based on the number of drawings issued as the deliverables.
It makes much more sense to bid a CAD job based on number of equipment items and number of lines/isometrics, but modern CAD systems such as PDS and PDMS require serious support throughout a project, so I'm hesitant to base my estimate purely on equip. items or lines in the traditonal manner. I have towers, brazed alum. h/exchrs, pumps and reflux drums - the usual fractionation setup - and as much modularization as possible to consider.
Any experienced CAD gurus/cost estimators out there? Any and all serious guidance sincerely appreciated!
