Hi Paul
thanks for that; very informative. I never realised servers ran on coca cola. Why would us guys want 50MB web space? Advertising?
Youre right about the sheep. Lambing has just finished and the ewes without
lambs are really easy to pick up at the moment. I expect they are impressed
by my lowered Lada Niva. Interested in trading a couple of supermodels for a
four tooth?
Sorry to hear about your BB512 problems; I avoided this on mine by adding
another 6 cylinders while maintaining the stock bore.
Nice to hear from a brother realist with neither pretensions nor delusions.
Slashdot looks curious; havent looked for snopes yet.
Thanks again & cheers; maybe I'll see you sometime in the baa.
Dave Mckenzie (we look the same to ourselves)

Subject: Re: [PipingDesign] ADMIN: A Round Tuit
Hi Dave,
Duh, everyone down there looks the same to me. Except upside-downy-looking kinda stuff. I hear the sheep are particularly randy this year. (poke-poke)
Piping Design Central is the website(s) and mailing list(s). Everything is above-board, I have yet to succumb to the dark side of the force. For the past year, the site has been supported by a one-time cash injection. I am not at liberty to provide details, but it ain't pretty.
The $100/month figure is for site hosting and internet access, and I've padded that a bit, but not much. At this time, I have paid in advance for 6 months service which will change in the new year because I am not happy with the current solution. I want 2 colocated servers (now we're talking big bucks) so that I can offer you guys about 50MB each of webspace in exchange for mumble, mumble.
Sponsors pay upfront for a six month period, this is what buys the groceries, smokes, booze and hookers. That and my servicing supermodels' temporary sexual needs while they are here in Montreal for the latest movie shoot. I'm way below minimum wage on that one.
I don't like Yahoogroups, actually, but it's free. I'd much rather have a home-grown solution, see the colocated server answer above. That way, I could TRULY be commander of everything pipingdesign-related! For sponsor info, I'd suggest that you contact them directly. They won't lie to you 'cause I didn't lie to them. Texas Flange and LMNO Engineering.
Regarding your last question, you might be surprised that a worldwide celebrity stud such as myself is having trouble paying the rent on Monday. I know, it's totally unbelievable. Those stupid machinists can't even bore out the cylinders of my BB512 properly, but that's another story.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot: I usually wake up at around 11AM, scratch my lower portion for 10 minutes and then take another nap until Star Trek comes on on the science fiction channel. Then I check incoming messages to the list that need approval (I usually reject/deny those that have more than 3 "f"s in them - gotta have standards, eh) and after that, well maybe it's the pub or off to Slashdot or snopes to troll for newbies. Life is tough and potentially dangerous; I once fractured my butt engaging in these activities.
If this does not answer all your questions, I can elaborate once the Playboy bunnies are finished with my "massage" (it's a different word in French).
Many ebullient regards,
Paul

Texas Flange - a good source for information on industrial flanges, all they
ask is for referrals for designs they help with.
