Oh great gurus of piping design, we have an issue in design of a gravity drain from a head tank. We have a nominal 16 inch pipe and 60 ft of head, straight drop of 40 ft. We know we have a problem with hydraulic jump. The tank is supported, and there is no realistic way to embed the system. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of how to calculate the force of the hydraulic jump?
