RE: viclaulic coupling

Hi Robert

my old Victaulic catalog gives a max end load of 45950 lb for a 16" style 31 coupling. It may pay to check the web site again. It appears unlikely you will have a problem, but you should work through it. The horizontal pipe should be properly supported at its end.

Cheers

Subject: [PipingDesign] viclaulic coupling

Hi,

I have a 16" std cs pump discharge line run vertically. There are two victaulic couplings on this line and no any support between these two couplings. So my concern is:

Is this design safe? Would the upper coupling (Which carry most of the weight of pipe and fluid inside) fail?

is there anywhere I can get the information about how much weight the coupling can carry? I've checked the victaulic website and their catalog, found nothing.

So should anyone has experience on this issue give me some help?

thanks
Robert Liu
