We joke around here that the Christmas party venue has to change because so many old lags cant get their wheelchairs and Zimmer frames through the doors or up ramps of the current venue. Engineering in Australia, when it comes to piping, is positively geriatric. OK we have the CAD wizards (let's not open that debate again) but the diehards are all over 50. I am not old but have been young for a very long time. At a meeting last night of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (the Australian branch of the Pommie one) the chairman advised that the average age of the branch members here was 70! These guys have been young for a very long time.
