I was bored (I have a very short attention span unless things are interesting), so I was browsing the site. Every now and then I get brain-dead and look at it.
One thing I rediscovered was the Red Adair story. It's pretty much guaranteed to be one-sided ( http://www.redadair.com/bio.html ), but it is interesting nonetheless. This is the stereotypical American cowboy tale, but this guy must have unobtanium balls.
Disregard all the patriotic stuff, just look what he has done. That is one fearless SOB, although he might be mellowing now due to that ageing thing.
One thing I recall about the Gulf War fires was the Hungarians' contribution. Does anyone else remember this? Didn't they retrofit an old Russian tank and put out a lot of those flaming gushers?
