Hi Paul
yes you were definitely bored. It must have been one of those weekends. My attempt to stave off boredom involved me firing up my 1956 Fargo (Dodge) pickup (after 4 years growing moss, "parked" under a tree out the back) and then getting it bogged in the back paddock. On lifting the bonnet (hood to you) I see that it was MADE IN CANADA. I thought you guys only canned fish (oops - sorry). My Fargo is a bit of a bitza (186 Holden motor, J1 Bedford steering box, International transmission, Standard Vanguard rear springs on the front, fuzzy dice from a Toyota Corona, home made clutch linkage) but I would like some bits that I cant make or adapt. Is there a web site or other contact where I can get some bits (e.g. glass) from?
Breathless with anticipation
Cheers
Steve McKenzie (and my good mate Ramesh at Alpha.dxb)

I was bored (I have a very short attention span unless things are interesting), so I was browsing the site. Every now and then I get brain-dead and look at it.
One thing I rediscovered was the Red Adair story. It's pretty much guaranteed to be one-sided ( http://www.redadair.com/bio.html ), but it is interesting nonetheless. This is the stereotypical American cowboy tale, but this guy must have unobtanium balls.
Disregard all the patriotic stuff, just look what he has done. That is one fearless SOB, although he might be mellowing now due to that ageing thing.
One thing I recall about the Gulf War fires was the Hungarians' contribution. Does anyone else remember this? Didn't they retrofit an old Russian tank and put out a lot of those flaming gushers?
