say you have a process line, a steam line, a condensate line, a utility line in one battery unit. put all the iso's, related valves and support plus the associated steel structure in one neat sheet and you got yourself a composite drawing.

why do it - couple of uses will be to check for available space, clearances, check for possible clashes/interference, great for checking the routing of a new line in a very tight area, etc.
