When the Suction and Discharge Nozzles of the pump are considered
individually anchored the nozzles loads exceed the API specified
limit in an existing system. Then I freed the 2 Nozzles, anchored
the Pump Base and connect the 2 Nozzles to the base by rigid bodies
of zero weight. Now it is found that the Global Forces at the
elements connecting to the nozzles are much lower than API 610
Limits. Is this apporach of evaluating the nozzle load okay. [In
actual the Pump Base and the 2 Nozzles form single rigid body. But
in the model I described there are two regid bodies, each nozzle
individually connected to the base] Or is there any other approach?
Or should I necessarily do something with the Piping Layout.
