Analysis software is one thing, knowledge, and experience is another.
Having access to piping analysis software does not make you a stress
analyst.
When you don't know how to start a problem, the problem must be
over
your head, and you should not be doing this work alone. Did I hear
someone said "Garbage in garbage out"?
Like other professions, engineers must have social responsibility for
the work they do. Mistakes you make could result in all kinds of
negative consequences and you would be doing a disservice to your
clients.
Hire an experience engineer and work with him/her if you want to
learn something new. In my state (Calif, USA), some analysis requires
independent review by a registered profession engineer. Use them
wisely if you have to.
This forum is for exchanging ideas and experiences among folks in the
piping business. There are many competent participants here with
valuable experiences you can learn from, but when it comes to making
detail decision on your work, you must consult with a competent
engineer who is intimately familiar with your problem and can give
you detail instructions. Like when you are sick, you don't go to
a
medical forum. You go see a doctor and pay him.
