I'm just wondering why you need a shoe for a pvc line,
but anyway you can leave it as it is, u can put a wear
pad or plastic wear pad in replacement of a 3.1/2"
shoe. usually we have 1/4" thick pad available as far
as i know...but i'm not very much sure if it will work
considering other connections with respect to that
specified location where you intend to put shoe.
