Thomas,
You can go for the Pipe Shoe at every calculated span of the plastic pipe in consideration. Just a small modification to the normal steel is required. Weld a steel plate on top of the shoe for steel pipes and use a PVC strip between pipe and top steel plate. Make sure the overall distance of the modified shoe (including the 3-6mm thk plastic plate) is the same available between the BOP and the pipe rack elevation.
I assume there is a provision of a beam in the rack at every span dist. required for the plastic pipe, sothat you can place your modified shoe.
Best regards.

Subject: [PipingDesign] Shoes for Plastic Pipe
>Gents:
Can anyone suggest a method of supporting PVC pipe in a rack designed for steel pipe?
We are installing a pipe rack to support several 4" and 6" steel lines, uninsulated.ÃÂ One end of the rack will support two 4" PVC pipes.ÃÂ We originally designed the pipe so that all invert elevations were the same, but we forgot that we would have 3-1/2" shoes on the steel pipe.
Would you suggest:ÃÂ 1) lowering the invert elevation of the PVC pipe to rest directly on the pipe rack?ÃÂ or 2) fabricate some sort of shoe for the
PVC pipe?
Thank you for your help.
