You can get into problems from cavitation if you're not careful about
overspeeds. This is a problem with ship's propellors, too. I've seen
erosion damage to copper drinking water lines (my own) downstream of a
poorly made solder joint. Keep the lines smooth and use ball valves, not
gate valves.
