Subject: [PipingDesign] Re: Nozzle Flexibility factors and stiffnesses
Has there been any documented failure attributed to design oversight related to the above subject? Nozzle fails since the stiffness has not been properly analyzed. Question arises since over the life of the piping some of thse nozzle leaks or showed sign of thinning and would requre repair. Either by welding or a cettain type of enclousres whoich in effect would change the stifness. Since the practice is allowed (contractor does not normally ask impact re:WRC297) i was just wondering how far do we really have to go as far as analyzing/evaluating nozzle jointis concewrn
