Dear Vinay
The allowable stresses for the same material A106 Gr B will be different as
the criteria for establishing allowable stresses are different in the codes
considering the area of applications of the codes. ASME 31.8 relates to Gas
Transmission Pipelines, where as B31.3 relates to Process plant piping,
mainly above ground piping systems.
You may have to refer to relevant codes for better understanding.
