I understand the dichotomy. On the one hand, this list is designed to help newbies and also connect experienced piping design people.
Those that received the offlist message regarding "skinflint managers" likely have strong opinions about this as well.
It seems that many messages recently have been from people that "should know how" (or are supposedly in a position to learn how from mentors), but are looking for free consulting via this list.
