RE: compressor piping

It is never advisable to take supports for any piping system from supporting structure of rotating machine ; because of following reasons :<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"
/>

  1. Location of mass centre for rotating machine and of support structure shall not be same, which leads to unbalanced mass in the dynamic condition.
  2. The above point leads to different natural frequency of vibration of rotating machine than that of supporting structure.

is it advisable to take pipe support for compressor inlet n outlet lines from the compressor support columns? it is advised that support shall not be taken from the columns as they will be vibrating along with the machine hence the vibration will pass on to the nozzles. my opinion is that since both machine n structural column and the support are subjected to same vibrations hence there should not be any adverse effect on the nozzles. i would like ur valuable opinion on this regards
