I am a post-graduate student, and at present trying to do my thesis.
I would appreciate if any offshore pipeline engineer can help me
regarding any worked example on installation of pipielines flooded
and also empty, for shallow and deep water.
as you know, pipelines in deep waters, have thicker wall thickness
to withstand hydrostatic pressure, but the thickness may become too
excessive, and the weight of suspended pipeline become so great
beyond the existing limits on the tensiner on the pipelay vessel.
therefore the pipe may be flooded during installation , which means
thinner wall thickness, and substantial material savings,
If anyone is dealing in these lines of design work, or involved with
the design of shallow and deep waters, and have any worked example,
I would welcome it very much.
Best regards
